How to Send Minidump Files for Troubleshooting
Is your computer playing hide and crash with you? Don't worry! It's likely generating little crash logs (a.k.a. minidump files) that are key to solving the mystery. Here's a quick guide to help you find and share these files for evaluation.
Finding Your Minidump Files

To locate these vital files:
- Open File Explorer: Either press Windows + E or open File Explorer from your taskbar.
- Navigate to This PC or Computer and enter the C: drive (commonly named Local Disk (C:)).
- Within the C: drive, find and access the WINDOWS directory.
- Look for the folder titled Minidump and open it.
- You should find files ending in .dmp within the Minidump folder.
Getting the Minidump Files Ready to Share

Here's how you can prepare these files for sharing:
- Choose the Minidump Files: Click to select the files you plan to send. Feel free to choose multiple if necessary.
- To make them easy to send, you may compress them: Right-click the chosen files, select Send to, then pick Compressed (zipped) folder. This action will generate a .zip file of the selected minidump files for convenient sharing.
Sending the Minidump Files

After compressing your files, here's how to send them:
- Decide on Your Sharing Method: Directly upload the .zip, or opt for a cloud storage service (such as Google Drive or Dropbox).
- If utilizing cloud storage: Adjust permissions to permit access, then copy and share the link with us.
Submission
Once your files are ready and shared, provide us the access link, or if possible, attach the .zip file in your email to us.
